“It all starts with finding time for and listening to each other.”
43-year-old Edwin Langerak was recently appointed Operations Manager, a role that will see him responsible for warehousing, transport, customer service and planning. Edwin would like to introduce himself.
“I live with Nicole and our four children in the Dutch village of Udenhout. After finishing my degree in Logistics Management at the University of Tilburg, I went into consultancy as a project manager and consultant. This exclusively involved tasks for logistics customers. From 2007 onwards, I started to focus more on operational logistics at companies such as DHL Supply Chain, V&D and Sony Playstation. In September, following a thorough and intensive application process, I decided to join Frigolanda as Operations Manager. In this role, I report to Hans van Leeuwen on the units I am responsible for, which are warehousing, transport, customer service and planning.
During my first few weeks at Frigolanda, I have been able to gather some all-important first impressions. Over the next few months, I will mainly be getting to know our customers and the company better, and especially the people at our company. I really value being able to work in an open and constructive atmosphere. As well as this, a good work-life balance is very important to me. Of course, I spend a lot of my free time with my family, taking my children to sports activities and socialising with friends and family. I am looking forward to getting to know you all better and to sharing and applying my knowledge and experience at Frigolanda. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Because after all, it all starts with finding time for and listening to each other.”
